The Peugeot 508, the large sedan of the Lion, is about to go through the restyling box. This is the fate of most cars that pass the fourth year milestone. Appeared in 2018, the Peugeot 508 will therefore be entitled to a mid-career restyling which will be effective in the spring of 2023.
In the meantime, prototypes camouflaged at the front and at the rear have been seen. At the front, the significant camouflage does not allow us to be certain about the modifications that would be made to the car. Of course the new brand logo should appear with the stylized lion’s head. The air intake at the bottom of the bumper could have a slightly different design and two air intakes Peugeot 308 (totally camouflaged here) could appear on either side.
The fang-shaped daytime running lights appear thinner and more vertical. It was announced or new light signature composed of a triple claw, it is not sure that this is the case. On the other hand, at the rear, there is a triple claw in the lights, like the one found on the Peugeot 408.
In the passenger compartment, there is also something new with the arrival of 3D holographic instrumentation inaugurated by the Peugeot 208. There will also be under the infotainment screen (with a new interface) iToggle configurable touch keys borrowed from the Peugeot 308, while a small slider will be responsible for controlling the eight-speed auto box.
The biggest changes will be under the hood. So it could no longer have diesel, while the sports version 508 PES of 360 hp may not be renewed. At the entry level, we should find a new 1.2 PureTech 130 hp engine with 48V micro-hybridization and dual-clutch transmission. The rechargeable hybrid variants should be two in number, one of 180 hp and one of 250 hp (borrowed from the DS 9) with a large capacity battery allowing a range approaching 75 km in electric.
