When exactly does the screen saver start?
We announced on Monday that Free had launched an advanced screen saver function on the Freebox Delta and Revolution Playersas well as a suitable application in the FreeStore.
If we have presented the operation to you, a question has come up several times: when exactly is the screen saver triggered? Will it cut a movie or a video? Indeed, if you can choose the period of inactivity beyond which the screen saver starts, this should not interfere with the use of the Freebox.
So we asked Free who told us that “activity is seen as pressing a key or watching a video”. In other words, inactivity, and therefore the triggering of standby, takes place when you do not press a key during the defined time, and you do not watch a video, whatever it is. (VOD, recording, TV, etc.). A film will therefore never be cut by the screen saver. On the other hand, if you put a video on pause, the screen saver can be activated, but all you have to do is press any button on the remote control to return to the film being viewed.
